Resident Evil Takes Over Universal Horror Unleashed With New Interactive Experience

Guests can step into Raccoon City, solve puzzles, battle the undead, and meet iconic characters during the limited time event running through August 30.

The T Virus has officially arrived in Las Vegas.

Beginning today, Universal Horror Unleashed has launched an all new Resident Evil takeover that transforms the year round horror attraction into an interactive adventure inspired by Capcom's legendary survival horror franchise. The experience is included with regular admission and runs through August 30.

Rather than simply adding themed decorations, Universal has created a story driven experience that places guests in the middle of a deadly outbreak sweeping through Raccoon City.

Visitors begin their mission by passing a familiar "Welcome to Raccoon City" sign before learning that the Umbrella Corporation's T Virus has spread beyond containment. From there, guests travel through six connected zones while completing objectives, solving puzzles, encountering infected creatures, and helping contain the outbreak.

The six story zones include Arrival, Mission, Infection, Combat, Escape, and Aftermath.

Inside the Mission area, guests enter the Raccoon City Police Department where they must solve interactive puzzles before continuing deeper into the experience. Infection throws visitors into quarantined streets filled with zombies, while Combat features some of the franchise's most recognizable heroes facing off against infected enemies.

Fans can expect appearances from several iconic Resident Evil characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, and Ada Wong. Throughout the experience, guests will witness live action battles while navigating increasingly dangerous sections of the city.

The event also includes themed food and beverages inspired by the video game series, along with exclusive entertainment and themed photo opportunities. Merchandise is expected to be available during the event as well.

The Resident Evil experience is available exclusively at Universal Horror Unleashed, Universal Destinations and Experiences' first permanent horror attraction located inside AREA15 in Las Vegas. The venue already features four year round haunted houses inspired by Universal Monsters, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Blumhouse's The Exorcist: Believer, and Scarecrow: The Reaping.

Unlike Halloween Horror Nights, which only operates during the fall, Universal Horror Unleashed remains open throughout the year, allowing the resort to introduce seasonal experiences like Resident Evil without replacing its existing haunted houses.

The attraction is recommended for guests ages 13 and older due to its intense scares and graphic content. Universal also notes that the Resident Evil experience is included with general admission, meaning guests do not need to purchase a separate event ticket to participate.

With interactive gameplay, recognizable characters, and one of gaming's most famous horror franchises brought to life, Resident Evil may be Universal Horror Unleashed's biggest limited time event since the attraction first opened. For horror fans visiting Las Vegas this summer, it offers a chance to step directly into the nightmare that made Resident Evil a global phenomenon.

The Resident Evil takeover is available now at Universal Horror Unleashed and continues through August 30, 2026.
